Food, Supplies, Agricultural and Livestock Sector
Divont Chocolate Factory is a profitable industrial project with social dimensions. The factory was established in the Petra region in Ma'an Governorate, targeting the women's sector, where unemployment rates are high, and contributing to the development of the industrial sector in the region as the first factory in the area. For this reason, the Petra Regional Development and Tourism Authority supported this project by completing the necessary approvals to facilitate the factory's access to investment incentives and exemptions to achieve industrial development in the Petra region. The factory seeks to achieve sustainability and excellence by providing high-quality chocolate products at affordable prices to the Jordanian market, supporting the local community through business partnerships, and caring for the local human element through continuous training and development.
The factory produces different types of chocolates with nuts and special flavors added to them in what is called “Hospitality Chocolate”. The chocolate industry starts with raw chocolate, in addition to nuts and flavors, and ends with ready-to-consume packaged chocolates in multiple flavors, shapes, and packaging to meet different customer needs. The factory is equipped with chocolate manufacturing machines from Hakos, a Belgian company known for its chocolate machines, and Belgian chocolate products are used in the manufacture of chocolate products.
Manufacturing operations at the factory began in late 2021, and 2022 was a pilot year to reach the market and connect with customers in the southern regions of the Kingdom. Now, the factory is expanding its customer circle and product development, and needs to develop the sales side in parallel with the development of production and products. The factory received the Silver Jubilee Medal awarded by His Majesty King Abdullah II during his meeting with notables and representatives of the people of Ma'an Governorate at the King's Founder's Headquarters in the presence of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II. The Divont Chocolate Factory is a successful example of how industrial innovation can be integrated with social development, and serves as a role model for economic growth and community development in one of Jordan's most important tourist areas.
